Her Majesty Queen Silvia was delighted to attend the satellite office inauguration and fundraising events for Mentor Arabia in Jordan

Jordanian students on school visit together with HM Queen Silvia of Sweden and Mentor Arabia Board Member and supporters.

Under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and in the presence of Mentor International’s Founder and President, Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, as well as the Chairman of Mentor Arabia, HRH Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Mentor Arabia organised a series of events, including school visits, award ceremonies and gala dinner in Amman in October..

The delegation started with the announcement of Mentor Arabia’s office in Jordan to expand efforts to develop the capacities of children and youth and increase the likelihood for a healthy and safe life. Her Majesty Queen Silvia was pleased to see the positive impact that Mentor Arabia has had in achieving improved mental health of young people through the implementation of awareness programs.

Mrs. Thuraya Ismail, Mentor Arabia Executive Director, emphasized Mentor’s mission, saying: “The essence of everything we do is to make a positive impact on the lives of children and youth through our targeted awareness programs and our effective partnerships with the governments, private sector, international organizations, media and academic institutions and others.”

Mentor Arabia also hosted a gala dinner, with more than 450 guests from all over the world there to support Mentor Arabia’s work in the field of youth empowerment. His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz presented Mentor Arabia’s fifteen-year journey of diligent work, aiming at providing better opportunities for Arab children and youth by enhancing their self-confidence to confront all forms of risky behaviors.

During the evening, the winners of the third edition of “Mentor Arabia Youth Social Entrepreneurs Award” were announced, in partnership with Zain Jordan, AlJude and TUI Care Foundation. This award aims at honoring young entrepreneurs for their exceptional achievements in the field of humanitarian and social development and to highlight their success stories and positive impact on the society. In collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation, the award winners will implement a number of career mentoring sessions for their Jordanian peers to inspire and motivate them to give back to their communities.

The gala host was Rabia Al-Zayyat. An amazing performance was held by the renowned Lebanese musician, Michel Fadel, the Egyptian Singer Abu, the Jordanian singer Nadine Tayseer and the French artist Dieze, accompanied by the Amman Chamber Orchestra.

Under the #PayItForwardToOurYouth campaign, a number of individuals and entities, came together to serve one cause, which is empowering children and youth to prevent them from risky behaviors.

Mentor Arabia extends its appreciation to each party that contributed to the success of the ceremony, the proceeds of which will go to support the implementation of its awareness and prevention programs and projects in Jordan and the Arab world, starting with the Arab Jordan Investment Bank and the Four Seasons Hotel Amman, to Al-Babtain Group, CCC, Zain Jordan, TUI Care Foundation, the Amman Chamber Orchestra, Imseeh Jewelry, Al-Aghssan, Roya Media Group, Aljude, Royal Jordanian, ICE, and all those who contributed to the success of this ceremony.
